Community Decarbonisation is a calculator tool that enables councils to set emissions reduction targets by exploring alternative pathways across key decarbonisation interventions.

Community Decarbonisation utilises the greenhouse gas emissions data from the CCAP City Platforms, which allows you to construct a decarbonisation pathway for your local area.

You can log in to Community Decarbonisation at app.kinesis.org/communities.

Iterate on pathway

You can then work through each of the intervention areas such as stationary energy, transport, waste, agriculture and more. Adjust these inputs to reflect your local aspirations (i.e. what do I want to achieve in my area) or program inputs (i.e. what are your local waste or mode shift targets).

As you iterate on a pathway, you will get immediate feedback on the outcomes of this pathway, so you can see if you are achieving your targets around your annual emissions and carbon budget.

More details about these visualisations are discussed in Understanding Pathway results.
