During onboarding, the Kinesis team sets up the data categories and data types of the CCAP City tool based on your organisation's needs. Setting the native unit for each data category is included in this process. Some common ones are:

  • Electricity - kWh

  • Gas - MJ

  • Waste - kg

  • Transportation - km

Note: To view the complete list of data categories, go to Management -> Data ->Data Categories.

Data uploaded is always in the native units of the data category. Where relevant, CCAP City converts native units to Energy (MJ) and CO2e Emissions (tonnes) using factors which are maintained by Kinesis. You can choose to display/view the data in terms of Energy (MJ) or CO2e Emissions (tonnes) at the top of the Data Type filter:

  • Navigate to Analysis -> Explore

  • Select Data Types and choose if you want to view your data in terms of Energy (MJ) or CO2e Emissions

  • Set the filters for the rest - data type, intensity metric, periods, areas, sectors, etc. For more information on setting filters, click here.

Note: if multiple data types are selected across different data categories then there is no single native unit and so CCAP City will default to showing the data as CO2e Emissions.
