How do I customise the names displayed on my report?

Customising or anonymising names of data for a specific report without changing the data set up

The Custom Grouping function in Explore (Analysis) can be useful for changing how your report is displayed without having to change the data set up or affecting how other reports are displayed. Anonymising data is one way it can be used.

Anonymising Data

If you have a report containing names that you want to anonymise for a presentation, say places, you can easily change the names using Custom Grouping. For example, you have the 2015 emissions report of 5 suburbs:

Follow these steps to change the names of the suburbs:

  • Enable Custom Groupings. This can be found at the top of the data table

  • Select the item that you want to rename, and click Name Grouping.

  • Enter the new name, and click the check icon.

  • After completing the rest of the items, the report should now look like this:
